Once considered just for christian fundamentalist, homeschoolers today cite many different reasons for their home education choice. Everyone who homeschools has a different reason. Not everyone does it for religious reasons. One parent shares her reasons for homeschooling her special needs son.

The Museum reflects the history of Crook County. Permanent exhibits include Indian artifacts, cowboy artifacts and pioneer artifacts dating from 1875. Also included is furniture from original Courthouse, 1888, the Sundance Kid was on trial here; a Vore Buffalo Jump Diorama and display; a Custer Trail diorama showing the route taken by Custer through Crook County and the Black Hills; and Crook County photographs, brands, and local artifacts. An only child deserves an excellent education and formation, as does any other child. Don’t deny your child, just because he is your only one, the benefits of homeschooling. Make it work. The home educated only child will profit ten-fold from your daily guidance in how to become a good and decent person by watching you in your daily life. The majority of his life will be spent as an adult so this training is of utmost importance. We have been fed a pile of lies to think that our child’s ability to socialize consists in getting along with a multitude of kids his own age.

Homeschooling parents will find that when it comes to choosing the curriculum for math, there is a huge variety available. In fact, the number of math curriculums available to choose from may make choosing the right one difficult. These supplemental math activities for grades K-5 are fun ways to incorporate more math into your homeschooling.

The Laramie River Station, located east of Wheatland, WY, is one of the largest consumer-operated, regional, joint power supply ventures in the United States. The Missouri Basin Power Project (MBPP), a group of six electric utilities, owns the plant and adjacent facilities. Laramie River Station has three coal-based units, each with 550 megawatts of capacity. Units 1, 2 and 3 began operating in 1980, 1981 and 1982, respectively. The electricity produced at Laramie River is sent to substations in Wyoming, Nebraska and Colorado, where it is then delivered to MBPP Participants. Laramie River is unique because it delivers electricity to two separate electrical transmission grids. Unit 1 is connected to the eastern grid, while units 2 and 3 are connected to the western grid. These grids, which divide the United States into two sections, were developed independently and must be served separately.

Elementary geometry is very visual, but you can teach it physically as well. Teaching with multiple modalities whenever possible makes information stick much better in the minds of children.

Most folks who ask about socialization mean well. They are not plotting against us, but they are uninformed. But modern socialization in schools is not natural or desired. The best response is one that offers a gentle attempt to enlighten questioners about the wonderful world of homeschooling.
